Driving to work on this beautiful morning we had today I couldn't help but feel some sympathy for those who have to endure the M25, congested dual carriageways, city center parking or mile after mile of nose to tail traffic. This is what I have to suffer as I go to work. How is your daily commute?
Traffic getting quite heavy now as I approach my destination of South Cave, visible in the distance.

Having Garden Camped in my new Ridge Tent recently I couldn't help thinking it had quite a bit going for it. No driving. No loading up the car. Pitch where I like depending on the size of my lawn. No packing away a wet tent. If it's raining it can stay up for another day or two free of charge until it dries out.

Are there any downsides? Well the view is nothing special and you get odd looks from the next door neighbour but at least you get your camping fix on the cheap. Anyone else like Garden Camping:yes:

So last night my neighbour delivered a washing machine drum to me (still in it's casing - that was the project for this afternoon!) to be used as a fire pit. My neigbour and her friend are into recycling to raise funds for the swimming club that they run.

We left it by the back gate, behind the garage, down a private driveway.

Went out this morning to the hairdressers, it's still there, came back, it's gone!!! Some scummy ba****d pog has no doubt helped themselves. What worries me most is that they have been onto my property to nick it!

Yes, I can get another one and I don't mind donating to the swimming club again, but that's not the point. Why do these people think they can just help themselves. Needless to say the police will happily give me crime number but aren't really interested!:arghh:

A few days ago I gave you a tip on how to get all Heated Up well your water that is!!!, today I am going to give you my tip for “Keeping Your Cool”. Take a sock, a thick walking sock is great for this but any sock will do however the thicker the better. Put in your can bottle or whatever, soak the sock in cold water, when it soaking wet, hang it under a tree or anywhere in the shade where the breeze can get to blow past it, keep it wet. Hey Presto a cool drink always cooler than the ambient temperature it’s as simple as that.
Years ago you could get a cool box that worked on the same principle easy cool I think they were called they worked great, we used a one for years all it cost to run them was a cupful of cold water a day, sadly you can’t get them anymore. So this may help you to keep things cool, and once again it’s free.

I must be going soft in my old age. I have been camping for 30 odd years and only started using EHU a few years ago. I think from next month, I will manage without electric until the end of September. It is only for heating. A 12 volt battery, a small invertor and gas will run everything else I need.
